Week 4 Preview, Power Picks and Predictions

Are we already headed into the fourth week of the fantasy season? Why yes, yes we are. Time to get down to business.

Bogeys Boys got their first win of the season behind the All-Star passing arm of Nick Foles. I hate that guy. Corn on the Cobb lost the only shootout of the week as Not the Cowboys had six players in double figures.

In a yawner of a game, Control dropped their third straight behind the stellar non-performances of, well, everyone on the roster.

Here come your Power Rankings for Week 3. This week is a coaches poll so don't be surprised if it looks different from previous weeks.

(I took the numbered votes, added them, averaged them, and then ranked the teams accordingly. I placed this number in parenthesis after the team name. For example, Cracka P got two 2s and two 3s, making his rank a 2.5, which was below one team and above the other four. Thus Cracka P is the 2nd ranked team this week.)

Four teams sitting either one game above or one game below .500 right now. With 11 weeks left it's going to be interesting to see how this one shakes out. 6 team league means everyone gets a shot at having two or three all-stars. With suspensions and injuries playing a role it will be interesting to watch how the season unfolds. Also having a coaches poll really takes the pressure off me, that way I'm not the only one ranking everybody and facing the fear of personal vendettas.

This author’s predictions for the coming week:

#6 Cruz Control 95 at 89 #4 Corn on the Cobb
- I picked an upset last week and was wrong, but I'm picking it again. Cruz has so much firepower QB through TE that I find it hard to believe the losses will continue. The buck stops here my friends.

#3 Not the Cowboys 80 at 100 #5 Bogeys Boys
- There's going to be a QB shootout in San Francisco this week and Bogeys Boys will benefit thereby.

#1 Angry Wookies 100 at 85 #2 Cracka P

- The top two teams in the league square off for the first time this season. The Wookies have one or two soft spots but should be able to overcome the deficits unless Cracka P plays the waiver wire just right this week. And I totally would be OK if he forgets to check his team until Sunday at 12:06 pm. Yep. I have no problem with that.
That's Week 4 people. Go get 'em!

cracka p takes sole possession of first place with his second win in a row, once again thanks to the Seattle Seahawks QB. Bogeys Boys dropped to 0-2 behind the stellar performances of AJ Green and Jamaal Charles. The production level from these two was unprecedented.

Not the Cowboys got their first division win with 20+ point performances from 4 different players. Ankeny can't catch a break these days. But it's only Week 2! The great thing about fantasy football is that it drives you insane.

Here come your Power Rankings for Week 3.

As you can see from the Power Rankings the league is pretty competitive 1 through 6. And I only ranked the Boys last again because the Eagles' players have been doing well, the other team just keeps having career days. cracka p is earning his spot at #1 with the most points per game and the fewest allowed as well.

This author’s predictions for the coming week:

#5 Ankeny Eagles 115 at 105 #2 Angry Wookie
- Picking the upset this time around because the Eagles are due. Cam and Drew are producing at a steady pace and Wookie's RB can't be expected to turn in 15+ points every week.

#4 Corn on the Cobb 110 at 120 #3 Not the Cowboys bplumerpl@yahoo
- Andrew Luck plays at Jacksonville and Aaron Rodgers is inside the Ford Dome Thingy in Detroit. Unless Peyton throws 7 TDs, the Not the Cowboys should have this one in the bag.

#1 cracka p 105 at 96 #6 Bogeys Boys
- At the time of publication Bogeys Boys did not have a defense scheduled to start. But that's not why I'm picking cracka to take this matchup. Brandon Marshall should have a good day against the Jets.
That's a wrap! Happy football everyone!

Week 2 Preview, Power Picks and Predictions

Week 2 is upon us. Two weeks into the fantasy football season and we're just getting started. What better time to start Metros League Power Rankings than right now?

cracka p rode Marshawn Lynch and Megatron to victory last week, but he also got some help from Vernon Davis and the Seattle Seahawks QB. The Ankeny Eagles had high scorers in Le'Veon Bell and Julius Thomas, but didn't get any help from anybody else. That was the difference maker. Corn on the Cobb is once again determined to prove that there's nothing wrong with Peyton Manning's head. Or Matt Stafford's head, for that matter. And we are all just thrilled.

We now move to the East Division which looks like this:

Angry Wookie got really lucky. Jasen Whitten and the Chiefs defense scored one point each. These are the top two items on "The List of Things that Won't Happen Every Week." Or at least the Chiefs' fans hope.

Now that we got the nitty gritty out of the way, let’s move on to the Power Rankings.

As you can see from the Power Rankings the league is pretty competitive 1 through 6. And positions 4-6 are only that way because I had to pick an order. Corn has Peyton again so he will be a formidable force in the West. And watch out for the Eagles, with Cam Newton, Drew Brees, Le'Veon Bell, LeSean McCoy, and Julius Thomas, the points will be piling up like none other.

This author’s predictions for the coming week:

Bogeys Boys 113 at 116 Angry Wookie
- I'm giving this one to Wookie simply because I don't think the Colts' defense lets Nick Foles score the projected 17 points.

Ankeny Eagles 130 at 112 Not the Cowboys bplumerpl@yahoo
- Iowa shouldn't have a problem this week as Drew Brees faces the Browns defense and Julius Thomas is playing in Kansas City.

cracka p 105 at 120 Corn on the Cobb
- Corn's boys are all predicted to score in the double digits and I have no reason to believe that they won't.
That's a wrap! Hopefully I will post on this blog consistently.
